User Story

Title: Automate Pool Low Water Level Alerts

As a homeowner, I want to automate the monitoring and maintenance of the swimming pool water level to prevent it from dropping below the skimmer, So that I can prolong my pool equipment and make sure the water level is never too low.

Acceptance Criteria

• Real-Time Water Level Monitoring
  • The system shall continuously monitor the water level in the pool and provide real-time data updates every 5 seconds.
  • The sensors used in the system shall have a precision of ±0.5 inches and successfully detect water level changes within this range.
  • The system shall display the current water level on the mobile app interface with a refresh rate of no less than every 5 seconds.
  • The system shall be able to operate continuously for at least 30 days without requiring maintenance or recalibration of sensors.
  • The system shall successfully integrate with existing pool equipment without requiring major modifications.
  Low Water Level Alerts
  • The system shall trigger an alert when the water level falls below 2 inches above the skimmer.
  • The alert shall be sent via mobile app notification, email, and SMS within 30 seconds of the water level reaching the predefined threshold.
  • The system shall allow users to customize the alert threshold within a range of 1 to 5 inches above the skimmer.
  • The system shall provide a test function to verify the alert mechanisms (mobile app, email, SMS) are working correctly.
  • Users shall be able to acknowledge and dismiss alerts from the mobile app, and the system shall log the acknowledgment time and user details.
  • The system shall retry sending the alert up to 3 times if the initial alert fails to be delivered, with retries spaced 1 minute apart.
  • The mobile app shall display a persistent notification until the water level is back to normal and the alert is acknowledged.
